Annual mother daughter shoot - 2021
Every year during the holiday break, my daughters and I take photos together. We don’t dress up all fancy or head out to scenic locations. Instead we hangout in my room, usually in our PJ’s and jump on the bed, giggle and just have fun. I love the holiday break as it gives the girls and I time to relax, recharge and reconnect.
Last year we missed out on our annual session and thinking about it still makes me a bit sad. As we all know since the pandemic started life has gotten more complicated for many and mine was no exception. A stressful 9 to 5, kids in and out of school, photography, throw in a back injury and well you have yourself a pretty solid recipe for burnout. By the time the holidays rolled around I was in rough shape. Needless to say I missed out on a lot of fun.
Well one year later things sure look a lot different. I was able to leave my 9 to 5 back in July, have been able to focus on my business, spend more time with my kids AND I can move pain free! This year’s session felt extra special and I am so grateful to have these memories with my girls. I know the last couple years have been hard on them too and they were still absolute gems while I was recovering. I feel so lucky to have such caring, goofy and understanding little humans. I hope that we don’t we miss out on anymore of our holiday sessions and that we are able to keep this tradition for many more years to come.
